The challenge
As part of a premises relocation, Satisnet (A Gamma Company) required the design and fit-out of a state-of-the-art Secure Operations Centre (SOC). A core requirement was the implementation of a 10-screen video wall capable of displaying multiple content sources across flexible screen layouts and configurations. Control of the video wall needed to be available directly to SOC operatives from their workstations, enabling rapid and efficient operational response.
Following an extensive consultancy and discovery process, additional requirements were defined, including wireless, platform-agnostic connectivity to allow content to be presented from any device or operating system. This ensured maximum flexibility while maintaining the operational integrity expected within a SOC environment.
The solution
entrustIT specified and installed ten LG commercial-grade displays, ensuring suitability for continuous commercial operation, appropriate brightness levels, and ultra-thin bezels to deliver a seamless video wall appearance. Video content was distributed over a dedicated local area network, providing maximum flexibility in screen layout and configuration. A Kramer VIA Campus platform was deployed as the core wireless presentation solution, enabling any authorised device to project wirelessly to any of the ten displays in any configuration.
The resulting solution fully met the operational requirements while allowing for future expansion. It significantly enhanced the speed, efficiency, and decision-making capability of SOC operatives by improving how visual data is reviewed, analysed, and actioned in real time.
The benefits
DWM delivered the works to a tightly managed programme defined by LLAOL, coordinating on-site engineering resources alongside multiple contractors delivering parallel services.
Effective planning and collaboration ensured the installation was completed smoothly, with minimal disruption to the airport’s day-to-day operations.
As a result, London Luton Airport now benefits from a highly modern, technically advanced security solution that supports the ongoing safety of passengers and staff. This capability is underpinned by an Excel infrastructure platform, backed by a comprehensive 25-year warranty, providing long-term assurance and resilience.
