The English Bridge Union Limited (EBU) is a membership-funded organisation responsible for promoting and regulating the game of duplicate bridge. It is affiliated to the European Bridge League and the World Bridge Federation. The national headquarters of the English Bridge Union are in Aylesbury with over 20 professional staff. EBU’s existing server based infrastructure was approaching end of life and so EBU decided to take this opportunity to investigate alternative approaches to delivering enterprise-class IT. EBU staff often work out of office and out of hours at tournaments across Europe so they needed a solution which would deliver a secure, reliable IT environment that could be accessed from corporate headquarters or from any other internet connection world-wide. After evaluating proposals from a number of suppliers, they decided to implement entrustIT’s Virtual Desktops.
