| Entrust announce new ICT solution for schools |

Entrust IT are pleased to announce a new product family aimed squarely at the IT needs of schools. Based on our highly successful "virtual desktop" range the schools desktop (www.schools-desktop.com) is a combination of remotely hosted and locally delivered technology, managed from our secure data centre and utilising application streaming technology. Utilising Microsoft Vista as a client operating system, we have been able to create an ICT environment that is self-repairing and provides the performance of locally installed and managed applications whilst retaining the trademark resilience of our fully hosted product range. The schools desktop has been in pilot for almost six months and will be live in the first two schools early in the 2008/9 academic year. Critical to the creation of the product has been extensive consultation with Head Teachers, Teachers and the pupils, ensuring that IT can become ubiquitous within the curriculum. |
